Meet Olivia, a resilient and inspiring young girl whose wish for a massage chair will soon come true, thanks to the generosity of our supporters. Olivia’s story is a testament to the power of hope and the life-changing impact of second wishes. For children like her, these experiences bring comfort, joy, and a sense of renewal during challenging times.
Olivia, age 15 was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma Cancer. She also she needed a kidney transplant. Olivia's Aunt donated her kidney and now Olivia has severe migraines, has hearing loss, vision impairment and educational delays from all her treatments between chemo and dialysis. She battles with short-term memory loss due to chemotherapy, but she is always up for the challenge.
Olivia enjoys swimming and her second wish is to receive a massage chair and backyard swing.
Our Mission
A Second Wish By Demetrius is a nonprofit organization based in Tampa, Florida, dedicated to creating unforgettable second wish experiences for children ages 8 to 18 facing life-threatening illnesses. By granting these wishes, we provide renewed hope, twice the joy, and lasting memories for children and their families during their most challenging times.
Why We Are Unique
Most wish-granting organizations provide just one wish per child. But thanks to advancements in medical treatments, many children with life-threatening illnesses are living longer and still deserve moments of joy and hope. At A Second Wish By Demetrius, we’re proud to be one of the few organizations dedicated to granting second wishes, offering children and their families unforgettable experiences that bring renewed hope and happiness during difficult times.
How We Make It Happen
We take care of every detail to make each second wish truly magical. From covering all financial costs—such as travel, accommodations, and activities—to tailoring the experience to the unique needs of the child, we ensure families can focus on what matters most: creating lasting memories together. Each wish is a carefully crafted journey of joy, love, and togetherness.
